Again, you may never see this comment, but thanks a million for the video of the beach. I spent many hours on the beach during the day after working a night shift on the flight line. This was my escape. I did have fun when there. The jelly fish did sting and the sea snakes did scare me at times, but all was well. I also had a chanch to go to south beach and swim there also. These were good memories to bring back this old man. Thanks a bunch. I took a lot of slides but no movies. Much thanks.
In 1965 at Nha Trang airfield for practice I performed an assault landing in a C-130E, which was a new aircraft at the time and is just now being retired from the USAF. I purposely did not round out for the touchdown and my copilot laughed when we checked the cockpit G meter to find it registered 2.6 G for the touchdown. After he made a practice landing and the G meter registered 2.3G, he stopped laughing. The plane was not damaged. I lived at 130 Pasteur, which is on the back side of the Rex.
